DIY face mask facial

Once a week, I like to do a deep cleaning. My house, my hard drive, my FaceBook friend list, and my face. While I soak my feet, I mask my face. There are a ton of recipes online for DIY face masks and facials. What works for one may not work for another.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp clay*
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar*

*You can use more as long as it is in equal parts.

Directions
Using a plastic spoon in a plastic container, mix both ingredients until the mixture is a consistent, thick paste. Then apply to face and neck.

I also apply to my legs. It is important not to use metal, because it makes the apple cider vinegar less effective.

There are many types of clay, each with unique properties. In this particular photograph, I used midnight black clay, because it is full of minerals to help remineralize the skin.

Midnight black clay shrinks when mixed with apple cider vinegar. You should feel the tightening shortly after application. This is normal.

Apple cider vinegar is one of those miracle cure ingredients. It has anti fungal properties.

If vinegar is too harsh for you, it can be substituted with a different liquid. I leave it on for between 15-30 minutes depending on what else I am doing. Afterwards, my face feels very soft, almost like a baby’s bottom. I have even put it on Dex, and his skin was softer and glowed.
